In traditional Chinese calendar, people divide a year into 24 solar terms, and Bailu is the 15th solar term.
Bailu always begins when the sun reaches the celestial lonitude of 165°, and ends when it reaches the longitude of 180°. When Bailu arrives, the summer monsoon gradually replaced by the winter monsoon, and the cold air turns from defensive to offensive. In addition, the direct point of the sun moves southward, the sunshine time in the northern hemisphere becomes shorter, the light intensity in most parts of China weakens, and the ground heat dissipation is fast, so the overall temperature decline speed is also gradually accelerated.
